Recontouring

It is a method applied especially in case of small-diameter sharpness and irregularities in the front teeth. The area of interest is abraded by a diamond-coated bur.

The amount of etching is kept as small as possible. Because if excessive abrasion is done, the dentin tissue will be approached and as a result, tooth sensitivity may develop. In addition, it is useful to cover the area with a resin-containing bonding material to protect the area from decay and sensitivity after abrasion.
