Sinus Lifting

Sinus Lifting

The spaces in the skull are called sinuses. The maxillary sinuses, called the maxillary sinuses, are divided above the upper posterior teeth. If a long time passes in tooth loss in the upper posterior region, the bone level in this area may decrease. If the reduced bone level leaves a small distance between the cavity structure called sinus in the upper jaw, this area is not sufficient for implant placement.

How Is Sinus Lifting Done?

In cases where the bone thickness decreases considerably, a window is opened in the bone and the sinus floor is reached. With special tools, bone powder is added by lifting the base upwards without damaging the sinus structure. Thus, the sinus border is pulled up and it is aimed to obtain a sufficient thickness of bone tissue for the implant. In addition, it can be applied simultaneously with the implant in some cases to reduce the waiting time after the sinus lift procedure. In this process, the bone layer covering the sinus floor is pulled up with special tools.
